THE GREEN INTENSIVE

For more than four decades, Dr. Danielle Green has quietly developed and refined a depth-oriented model of intensive psychotherapy. Long before therapy intensives became widely known, she was helping individuals, couples, and families accomplish profound therapeutic work through immersive, extended sessions that integrate psychoanalytic insight, unconscious processes, family systems, and evidence-informed methods for lasting change.

Intensives, Groups, & Retreats

Individual, couple, family, and group intensives are provided in a retreat-like setting where focused, uninterrupted therapy creates transformational experiences. Research indicates that such an intensive format provides faster change, symptom relief, and powerful healing experiences. This structure is appropriate for those seeking an alternative to weekly ongoing traditional psychotherapy.

Intensives for Individuals, Couples, and Families

Individual Intensives

Individual Mental Health Intensives that address specific emotional concerns that benefit from an intensive 8-12 hours of concentrated therapy with agreed-upon goals and follow-up.

Couple Intensives

Couple Intensives are tailored for individual couples who may be ready to reboot the relationship for greater intimacy or in acute crisis.  Couples commonly rework past hurts, find healing, improve communication, and rediscover intimacy to build a new foundation.  Couples' Intensives generally involve 12-15 hours of in-depth psychotherapy over a 2.5- to 3-day period.

Family Intensives

Family Intensives, often referred to as “family reunions,” identify individual and collective wounds, dynamics, and patterns that need care and attention. Such patterns often carry a transgenerational and ancestral trauma that becomes conscious through in-depth exploration, processing, and somatic release.  Together, family members begin a new legacy and intercept inherited patterns of suffering. Such family intensives may include only the original family, but more often, include many extended family members across the generations. Family therapy intensives generally occur over 3-5 days and include an average of 20-25 hours of focused psychotherapy. Some larger family therapy intensives have extended to 10-12 days and serve as an alternative to inpatient care for those in acute stages of distress.

Group Therapy Intensives

To Stay or Leave

To Stay or Leave Intensives are for those individuals who are at a crossroads to stay or leave their relationship. Six to twelve individuals come together for 3-4 days for 18-20 hours of intensive therapy to review, process, and support one another to make life-determining decisions to get unstuck and begin a new chapter.

Couples Group

Couples Groups include 4-10 couples working together in a concentrated retreat format over a 4-5 day period for 6-8 hours per day.  Some groups continue to meet online or in person every month for several months following the intensive to support the changes and growth of each couple.

Adult Family Group

Adult Group Family Therapy Intensives include 3-5 families and their adult children and partners who come together to have healthier relationships. Families learn from each other, becoming co-therapists in the process, improving communication, healing unhealthy patterns, and setting goals.

Reconciliation

The Reconciliation Intensive Retreat is designed for 10-14 individuals who want to explore regrettable past actions that beckon to be explored, understood, repaired, and integrated so that increased self-love and forgiveness are found. This retreat generally lasts for 3 days with over 20 hours of specialized psycho-spiritual therapy.
